Professional MBA

SZABIST offers the One year PMBA program for the executives and the middle level managers who strive for excellence and greater challenges in their professional life. The program is conveniently scheduled to accommodate the busy Executives keeping in view their own job related deadlines and travel schedules. The PMBA is a one year program spread over two semesters and consists of 33 credit hours. PMBA have Eleven courses. Each course is of four months duration. The candidate registers for 5/6 courses offered every semester to complete the degree within one year. Classes are regularly held on Friday between 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm , Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00pm.

For admission to the PMBA Program, the candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree (with minimum of four years relevant work experience) with minimum 55% marks / CGPA 2.50 from HEC recognized university in any field of study with two letters of recommendation and / or sponsorship letter are required.

PMBA is not equivalent to EMBA degree, no transfer courses are allowed into PMBA, and PMBA courses are not transferable to any other program. However, PMBA program is transferable to EMBA at SZABIST. The PMBA is equivalent to Post Graduate Diploma as per HEC guidelines.

Objectives


The Professional Program at SZABIST aims to:
Give students the knowledge and understanding of business trends and processes in Pakistani business environment.
Develop critical thinking, leadership qualities and other skills to analyze problems encountered at their workplace.
Answer leading question: What do I need to know?
Build confidence among the participants through brainstorming sessions, group discussions, and presentations.

Teaching Pedagogy


The PMBA program at SZABIST includes a mix bag of lectures, individual and group assignments, case studies, presentations and seminars. The program is split over two semesters, each of which corresponds in course content to the goal of the program. Participants study an integrated curriculum which focuses on diagnosing and analyzing a management dilemma, creating analytical and leadership skills and improving communication skills.
Besides the innovative curriculum and excellent faculty, students benefit from the organizational diversity and professional experiences of classmates. The classroom environment and assignments encourage networking and team sprit among the participants- real world experiences is shared and a sense of belonging evolves as they develop friendships during the study period.
