On August 17, 2024, SZABIST University Islamabad organized a Proposal Writing Workshop SZABIST Islamabad under the Faculty Learning and Development initiative. The session, titled “Proposal Writing for Donors Funding,” aimed to empower faculty members with the skills needed to develop persuasive and fundable proposals for external support. The event was coordinated by Dr. Khansa Zaman, reinforcing SZABIST’s commitment to academic development and external funding engagement.

In today’s highly competitive academic environment, donor funding plays a vital role in advancing research, infrastructure, and institutional growth. The workshop was officially inaugurated by Dr. Khansa Zaman and led by Mr. Kashif Sehgal, a respected development consultant with extensive experience in grant writing and donor communications.

During the Proposal Writing Workshop SZABIST Islamabad, participants learned how to identify suitable funding opportunities, structure a clear and compelling proposal, align objectives with donor expectations, and develop justified budgets. The session emphasized clarity, impact, and strategic alignment with donor missions.

Interactive discussions and real-time feedback allowed faculty members to apply these principles through hands-on practice. They explored how to present their project ideas convincingly and articulate the potential value and outcomes for donors.

Dr. Muhammad Asif, Associate Dean of Management Sciences, and Dr. Shazia Akhtar, Head of the Department of Management Sciences, both expressed their appreciation for the faculty’s active participation. They acknowledged that such training is critical for developing a research-focused academic culture that thrives on innovation and external collaboration.

The Proposal Writing Workshop SZABIST Islamabad is part of a broader series of capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and visibility of the faculty through continuous professional development. SZABIST continues to lead by example in cultivating a research-driven, globally engaged academic environment.
