SZABIST Islamabad Leads with Impact at International WASH Conference 2025
SZABIST University Islamabad proudly participated in the international conference “Breaking Barriers, Building Solutions: Youth for Safe and Dignified WASH Services” held from 12–14 November 2025, organized in collaboration with Lahore College for Women University and WaterAid.
The conference brought together global experts to advance SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, with key discussions on Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM).
Research Presentation Highlight
Dr. Arooj Mujeeb, Faculty of Education & Social Sciences, alongside PhD scholar Nimra Nseem, presented the study:
“Mental Health Literacy and Self-care Behavior Among University Students: Dysmenorrhea Severity as a Moderator.”
The research emphasized the importance of mental health awareness, self-care behaviors, and combining physical and psychological interventions to support young women managing dysmenorrhea.
Roundtable Contribution
Dr. Arooj also actively participated in the Menstrual Health and Hygiene (MHH) roundtable, advocating for enhanced menstrual health literacy and better attention to the needs of marginalised communities.
