SZABIST Islamabad hosted a thought-provoking seminar titled “Social Cohesion and Diversity: A Youth-Led Approach to National Unity, highlighting the critical role of youth in fostering national unity, embracing diversity, and strengthening democratic values.

The seminar featured distinguished guest speakers Mrs. Asiya Nasir, Senior Parliamentarian and Executive Director; Mrs. Surraiya Asghar, Former Parliamentarian and President; and Dr. Shazia Sobia Aslam Soomro, Member of the National Assembly. The speakers shared valuable insights on peaceful coexistence, inclusive citizenship, and the importance of youth engagement in building a cohesive and resilient society.

The event was organized by Dr. Taraq Waheed, Head of the Department of Social Sciences, and Ms. Sana Mukhtar, Program Manager BSSS/BS Psychology, in collaboration with the Resilient Women Network. Students of BBA 2-A also participated under the supervision of Dr. Iffat Rasool, Associate Professor.

This seminar aligned with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), reinforcing SZABIST Islamabad’s commitment to social responsibility, inclusive education, and national development.
