As part of experiential learning, students of BSBA 1 (Introduction to Accounting) from SZABIST University Islamabad visited the Elfin Pasta Manufacturing Unit , under the supervision of Ms. Nayyab Javed.
The visit transformed classroom-based accounting concepts into a real-world learning experience, allowing students to observe how the accounting cycle operates within a live business environment. As students toured the manufacturing facility, they closely examined routine business activities and actively linked them to core accounting principles, including:
- Identification and classification of assets such as machinery, inventory, and cash
- Understanding liabilities arising from operational activities
- Recognition of expenses in day-to-day production processes
- Generation of sales and revenue through distribution channels
Throughout the visit, students engaged in meaningful discussions, asked insightful questions, and analyzed why each operational activity matters from an accounting perspective. This hands-on exposure helped them clearly understand how real business observations are translated into accounting records and financial statements.
SZABIST University Islamabad extends sincere gratitude to the Elfin Pasta team for their warm hospitality and professional support. Special appreciation goes to Mr. Mohib Javed (Sales Operations Manager) and Mr. Hussain Showket (Plant Manager) for the comprehensive operational walkthrough, and Mr. Imran Mohsin (Chief Financial Officer) for delivering a practical financial briefing that enhanced students’ understanding of the financial dimensions behind business operations.
The visit concluded on a thoughtful and memorable note with gift hampers for the students, further enriching their learning experience.
