As part of the BBA-4 Environmental Sciences course at SZABIST University Islamabad, an experiential learning activity titled “Environmental Sustainability: From Awareness to Action” was conducted under the supervision of Iffat Rasool.
The activity was designed to move beyond theoretical understanding and engage students in practical environmental stewardship. Students actively participated in a hands-on learning experience that covered the complete process of plant growth—from soil preparation and digging to planting, nurturing, and observing the early stages of plant development.
Through direct involvement in these activities, students developed a deeper understanding of the effort, patience, and responsibility required to maintain green spaces. The experience highlighted the importance of sustainability, ecological balance, and individual responsibility in addressing environmental challenges.
The session encouraged students to take initiative in tree plantation and environmental conservation efforts within their homes, university, and local communities. By witnessing the growth cycle of plants, participants were inspired to adopt sustainable practices and contribute toward building a greener and healthier environment.
This initiative reflects SZABIST Islamabad’s commitment to experiential learning and environmental awareness, empowering students to become responsible citizens who actively contribute to sustainable community development through real-world engagement.
