17th National Research Conference

Palestinian Ambassador Waleed A.M Abu Ali has said he will put all efforts at personal as well as official level to promote close cooperation between his country and Pakistan in the field of trade, economy, science and technology to enhance strategic importance of the two countries.

Addressing the 17th National Research Conference here at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) he added "This is because of technological advancement that borders become meaningless, therefore; I am far much interested that Pakistan and Palestine should join their hands through various means to promote different research activities".

Congratulating Pakistan on the successful transfer of power from one civilian government to the other, Palestinian Ambassador said once the new regime fully settles down, a special delegation from his country will visit Pakistan to explore ways and means of boosting bilateral cooperation between the two Islamic nations.

Mr. Ali was of the view that solution to major problems confronting Pakistan and Palestine lies only in education and technological advancement. "I am trying my best to create new rooms and opportunities for the Palestinian students in Pakistani institutes and with the sincere support of my Pakistani brothers I am doing it successfully", he said.

Palestinian Ambassador said his country attaches great importance to its relationship with Pakistan who he added has always supported Palestinian cause at all international forums no matter which regime or political party may be in power in Islamabad.

Key Note Speaker at the conference, President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Manzar Khurshid Shaikh, said research is not something only related to books and curriculum rather it's about practically exploring and discovering new vistas or avenues of excellence.

Dr.Shamim A Sahibzada Head of R & D at SZABIST said the academic thrust of her institute was to promote maximum students-academia research in the field of management, computer and social sciences so that the outcome could be utilized to benefit wide range of sectors in Pakistan.

NRC is a bi-annaul event held at SZABIST where post-graduate students present their research papers in their respective discipline which are then reviewed, evaluated and critiqued by professors and scholars from within and outside the institute.
