The Environment and Climate Change Society at SZABIST University Islamabad organized an educational visit to the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources Headquarters in Islamabad, providing students with valuable exposure to one of Pakistan’s leading institutions dedicated to water resource research and environmental sustainability.

During the visit, students gained insights into the vital role of PCRWR in conducting, coordinating, and promoting research on key areas such as irrigation, drainage, surface and groundwater management, groundwater recharge, watershed management, rainwater harvesting, desertification control, water quality, and sustainable environmental practices.

Participants toured PCRWR’s state-of-the-art laboratories, where experts introduced them to advanced analytical facilities and demonstrated how scientific research supports the agricultural, industrial, and environmental sectors. Students learned about water quality testing procedures, sustainable water resource management, and the organization’s ongoing efforts to address Pakistan’s growing water and climate-related challenges.

The educational visit provided students with practical exposure to scientific research methodologies and enhanced their understanding of environmental conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management. By observing real-world applications of environmental science, participants strengthened the connection between classroom learning and professional practice.
