Students of Community Services Semester 1 (Social Sciences) were assigned task to disseminate awareness on Dengue Fever among those who have less exposure to media and information but exposed most of the time to conditions that make them vulnerable to Dengue fever.

Students were given detail information about the incubation period of dengue, clinical presentation of dengue, type of dengue such as hemorrhagic dengue and etiology, diagnosis and clinical management of the illness. Students were divided into different groups and were assigned to disseminate information among support staff of SZABIST.

The students reached out all such people not just within the premises of SZABIST but outside SZABIST too. The results indicated that only 20% were aware of the illness and that too because they have someone in their family members who suffered from dengue fever. Few of the information receivers responded that their family members are facing the symptoms but they are treating it at home. The awareness gave them insight to adopt precautionary measures and consult doctors well in time.
