Political Economy of Inequality – Session

A thrilling documentary on the political economy of inequality was screened at SZABIST University, Islamabad campus, on May 22, 2024. The screening was followed by a rich interactive session with Dr. Usman Masood. The students watched Robert Reich’s “Inequality for All”. Learning about the politico-economic fault lines that can perpetuate economic inequalities in modern democracies, such as the United States.

In the Q&A session, the students showed particular interest in the challenges associated with upholding social justice in a capitalist democracy. They compared the situation in the US to Pakistan’s own elite capture.
