The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) at SZABIST University, Islamabad Campus held a faculty training session on 19th November 2025 titled Demystifying Intellectual Property. Faculty from all departments attended the session. Mr. Shahbaz Ahmad, Manager of Intellectual Property & Legal Affairs at NUST, conducted the training. He is a certified patent agent and a WIPO Inventor Assistance Program volunteer. He explained the value of patents and other intangible assets. He also guided faculty on mentoring students and improving Final Year Projects for commercialization. The session supported SDG 4, SDG 9, and SDG 17. Faculty joined an interactive discussion at the end. ORIC SZABIST presented a shield to Mr. Shahbaz Ahmad in appreciation.
