Faculty development training was held on the topic of “Academic Planning and Management”. The central theme focused on Academic Planning and Management, Strategic Process of Academic Planning and Strategic Management, and Resource Management (with a focus on Time Management).
The interactive discussion centered around three major areas of responsibility of faculty members. These included teaching (and learning), research (applying and doing), and service (heading/leading a department, leading or members of a team, and serving the community, etc.). To achieve excellence in education, these three major areas have to be planned and managed in a way to achieve the requisite efficiency and effectiveness. Equitable and transparent rewards for faculty facilitate achievement excellence in these areas.
