Islamabad, October, 2026: Students of BBA-4 at SZABIST University Islamabad Campus participated in an academic field visit to Save Mart, I-8 Markaz, Islamabad, as part of their Consumer Behavior course. The visit, held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, provided students with an opportunity to observe consumer behaviour and retail practices in a real business environment.
During the visit, students explored shopper behaviour, retail merchandising strategies, product placement techniques, promotional displays, and factors that influence impulse buying. The activity enabled them to understand how different elements of a retail environment shape customer experiences and purchasing decisions.
The visit was facilitated by Ms. Sidra Aleem from the Department of Management Sciences. Mr. M. Pervaiz, Store Manager at Save Mart, briefed students on the store’s operations, retail management practices, customer engagement strategies, and merchandising decisions.
The interaction provided valuable insights into how retailers organize products, engage customers, and use merchandising techniques to influence consumer choices. Students also gained a practical understanding of the relationship between store layouts, promotional activities, and purchasing behaviour.
The field visit allowed students to connect classroom theories with practical retail observations and gain firsthand knowledge of consumer decision-making. It further enhanced their understanding of consumer behaviour, choice architecture, and modern retail management practices.
Through such experiential learning initiatives, SZABIST University Islamabad continues to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice, equipping students with practical insights into contemporary business environments.
