Building Ethical Entrepreneurs, One Dilemma at a Time: BBA Experiential Learning Activity
Islamabad, October 2026: The Department of Management Sciences at SZABIST University Islamabad organized an engaging experiential learning activity for BBA 4 students as part of their Entrepreneurship course. Led by faculty member Ms. Saba Butt, the activity focused on exploring ethical dilemmas in startup management and developing responsible decision-making skills.
Working in teams, students examined realistic ethical challenges that entrepreneurs may encounter while managing startups. They identified key ethical concerns, considered the interests of different stakeholders—including employees, customers, investors, and communities—and discussed appropriate ways to address each situation with fairness, integrity, and responsibility.
The collaborative activity encouraged students to listen to different perspectives, exchange ideas, engage in constructive debates, and develop solutions together. By evaluating different scenarios, students gained a better understanding of how business decisions can affect individuals, organizations, and wider communities.
This hands-on learning approach helped students move beyond theoretical concepts and apply business ethics to practical decision-making situations. It strengthened their critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and ability to assess complex challenges from multiple perspectives. Students also developed greater confidence in presenting and defending their decisions through logical reasoning.
The activity demonstrated the importance of connecting classroom learning with real-world business responsibilities. By exploring ethical challenges in startup environments, students gained valuable insights into the role of integrity, accountability, fairness, and responsible leadership in building sustainable businesses.
Through such experiential learning initiatives, SZABIST University Islamabad continues to prepare future entrepreneurs and business leaders who understand the importance of ethical practices, responsible management, and sustainable economic development.
