IT Labs

SZABIST Islamabad has many Computer Laboratories. These laboratories offer a combination of open-access facilities, timetabled teaching laboratories, specialist laboratories such as Electronics, FPGA, Robotics, languages and video editing, etc. Laboratories are equipped with a range of modern computer systems running with latest operating systems and software applications. All the laboratories are air-conditioned and are provided with uninterrupted power supply backup. There are Helpdesks and/or support teams to assist students with general queries. The policy of providing latest resources is reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure that the University remains equipped with latest computer technology.

Computer Lab -1

Furnished with number of HP Pro Desk 400 G7 PCs having latest Intel Processor, Intel® Core™ i7-10700 with Intel® HD Graphics 630 (2.9 GHz, up to 4.7 GHz maximum turbo frequency with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, 16 MB cache, 8 cores 16 threads) with 16 to 32 GB DDR4 up to 2933 MT/s data rate, Supports Intel vPro Technology and Intel Stable Image Platform Program (SIPP), 1TB Hard Disk Drive, LAN Intel® I219LM Gigabit Network Connection LOM and 18.5″ LED display Screens. All workstations are operating with latest Microsoft Windows 11 Professional 64-Bit operating system.

Computer Lab - 2

LAB -2 is fully equipped with large number of HP Pro Desk 400 G2 having Intel® Core™ i7-4770 with Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Up to 3.9 GHz Max. Turbo Frequency (3.4 GHz base frequency, 8 MB cache, 4 cores, 8 threads) , 16 GB DDR3 RAM up to 1600 MT/s data rate, 1 TB 7200 RPM, SATA 6.0 Gb/s Hard disk drives, 256 GB SSD to improve the efficiency of systems, Combo drives and 17″ LCD Screens. All workstations are operating with Microsoft Windows 11 Professional 64-Bit operating system

Systems Lab

Systems Lab is furnished with latest HP Pro Desk 600 G2 PCs having latest Intel Processor, Intel® Core™ i7-6700 with Intel® HD Graphics 530 (3.4 GHz, up to 4 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost, 8 MB cache, 4 cores 8 Threads ) , 16 GB DDR4-2133 SDRAM (Transfer rates up to 2133 MT/s ), 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA Hard Disk Drive, LAN Intel® I219LM Gigabit Network Connection LOM with 18.5″ LED display Screens.

DLD Lab

SZABIST Islamabad DLD Lab is fully equipped to perform a variety of courses in digital design and embedded systems, Electronics, Communication and Networks etc. Lab facilitates a range of experiments, from simple logic gates all the way to projects using field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) experiments. Students make extensive use of FPGA platforms, interfacing them with external hardware for course projects. Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes, PC workstations and support hardware to FPGA platforms. Software / Software on Demand

A wide variety of software programs are installed on University PCs or are available on demand, including specialist and professional software suites. An extensive software library is maintained in all labs. Instructors may request specific software for course use.

Computer facilities of the University cater to the needs of Computer Science students, as well as to students of other programs and research. The Computer Centre is equipped with the hardware needed to support teaching and research in areas of expertise within the University. There are seven laboratories on campus, each equipped with modern PC-compatible computers that are regularly updated to align with the latest market trends.

Internet Services

SZABIST University Islamabad campus features a robust network infrastructure tailored to meet the demanding academic and project needs of its students. With a 240MB optic fiber link allocated to each connected computer, high-speed internet access and reliable data transfer rates are ensured. To strengthen performance and streamline network traffic, the campus employs two Internet services facilitated by dedicated hardware devices, prioritizing secure and efficient service provisioning.

Additionally, we offer comprehensive wireless connectivity through the SZABIST Wireless Network, enabling students to access the internet via notebooks, cellular phones, and other mobile devices across the campus. This flexibility allows students to remain connected and productive from any location within the premises. The combination of high-speed optic fiber connections, efficient load balancing through multiple Internet services, and versatile NAT configurations ensures a seamless and reliable internet experience, essential for modern educational activities and collaboration.
