Islamabad, October 27, 2026: The Department of Social Sciences at SZABIST University Islamabad Campus, in collaboration with the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), organized a road safety and public facilitation initiative under the “Facilitation on Wheels” program. The activity brought ITP’s mobile service van directly to the campus, providing convenient access to driving license services for the university community.
During the initiative, students, faculty members, and staff were provided with on-the-spot facilitation for new learner permits, driving license renewals, and duplicate driving credentials. The service enabled participants to access essential civic facilities conveniently without having to leave the campus.
Alongside the facilitation services, Islamabad Traffic Police officers conducted interactive awareness briefings on traffic regulations and responsible driving practices. The sessions highlighted the importance of wearing helmets, using seatbelts, following road safety rules, and avoiding dangerous behaviours such as speeding and distracted driving.
The initiative provided students with an opportunity to understand their responsibilities as road users while emphasizing the importance of safe and responsible driving habits. It also highlighted the value of making public services more accessible to young people through direct institutional engagement.
Through this collaboration, SZABIST University Islamabad continues to promote community engagement, civic awareness, and student welfare. The partnership with Islamabad Traffic Police reflects the importance of cooperation between educational institutions and public authorities in building safer and more responsible communities.
