SZABIST University Islamabad celebrated Happiness Day through a vibrant and meaningful event that brought together students, faculty members, and guest speakers to promote mental well-being, emotional resilience, and positive social engagement. Co-organized by students of the BS Social Sciences (BSSS) and BS Psychology programs, the event highlighted the importance of holistic health and personal well-being in academic and professional life.
The celebration featured insightful sessions by distinguished faculty members and guest speakers. Dr. Syeda Razia Bukhari, Associate Professor, delivered an impactful session on the therapeutic significance and role of Surah Rahman in promoting mental well-being and emotional balance. Dr. Saif, Assistant Professor, shared valuable perspectives on achieving true contentment through Islamic teachings and personal reflection.
Adding further depth to the event, Ms. Syeda Ishrat Fatima, who leads a rehabilitation center for neurodiverse children, delivered an inspiring talk on how kindness, compassion, and purposeful actions contribute to a meaningful and fulfilling life. Faculty members Ms. Amber Gillani, Ms. Maria, and Mr. Abdul Hanan Sami also shared their perspectives on sustaining emotional health and building resilience in today’s fast-paced world.
Beyond the seminar sessions, students organized a variety of interactive stalls and psychological activities under the supervision of Ms. Sana Mukhtar, Program Manager of BS Social Sciences and BS Psychology, and Ms. Maria. These activities encouraged self-awareness, reflection, and engagement while providing participants with practical tools for enhancing their emotional well-being.
The event concluded with remarks by Dr. Taraq Waheed Khan, Head of the Department, Faculty of Education and Social Sciences, who commended the organizers and participants for creating a meaningful platform for dialogue and learning. He emphasized that happiness is not merely a destination but a daily practice rooted in empathy, gratitude, and collective responsibility.
The Happiness Day celebration reflected SZABIST Islamabad’s commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment while encouraging students to prioritize mental health, personal growth, and social well-being.
