A Moment of Reflection and Solidarity: SZABIST Islamabad Remembers
December 16th marks a somber day in Pakistan’s history—a day of unimaginable loss and heartbreak. In remembrance of the innocent lives taken in the 2014 APS tragedy, students of SZABIST Islamabad gathered to reflect, honor, and stand in unity.
With candles in hand, students walked together, their flickering lights symbolizing hope, resilience, and the unyielding spirit of a nation that refuses to forget. The procession was not just an act of remembrance but a powerful statement—a commitment to ensuring that such tragedies never repeat and that peace and safety remain a priority for every student.
Among those present was Akif, an APS survivor, whose strength and perseverance serve as a testament to resilience in the face of adversity. Accompanied by SZABIST alumni, the Head of Campus, and Dr. Ahmed Ali Qureshi, Head of the Student Support Services Department, the gathering was a moment of shared sorrow but also of unwavering determination to build a brighter, safer future.
As the candles burned, so did the collective resolve of those present—to remember, to reflect, and to stand united against violence and injustice. The event was a poignant reminder that while wounds may heal, the memories remain, guiding the path toward a more secure tomorrow.
We Remember. We Reflect. We Stand United.
