Advocacy is a process that involves a series of actions conducted by organized citizens in order to: transform power relationships, achieve specific changes in policy, program, strategies or allocation of resources; in the public or the private sector.
In order to equipped students of Community Services on the concept of “Community Mobilization and Advocacy” an interactive session has been arranged by Ms. Sana Mukhtar (Lecturer-Dept of Social Sciences) on “The Art of Advocacy”.
The session was lead by the Advocacy and Campaign specialist “Mr. Sarmad Iqbal” who is currently working in Islamic Relief. Mr. Sarmad efficiently explained the concept of advocacy, the role of advocate, lobbying and the difference between community mobilization and advocacy.
