As part of the Contemporary Issues course, MBA students from SZABIST University Islamabad participated in an experiential learning visit to Kohinoor Textile Mills under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Shazia Akhtar, Head of the Department of Management Sciences.
The industrial visit provided students with firsthand exposure to large-scale textile manufacturing operations. Participants toured various production units and observed the complete manufacturing process, from raw material handling to finished products. Students gained practical insights into fabric production, dyeing, stitching, quality control procedures, and the operational systems that drive efficiency within the textile industry.
The visit enabled students to develop a deeper understanding of supply chain management, quality assurance systems, workflow coordination, operational efficiency, and standardization practices in a modern manufacturing environment. By witnessing real-world industrial processes, students were able to connect theoretical concepts learned in the classroom with practical applications in the corporate sector.
In addition, students attended an informative session conducted by the company’s HR Executive, who shared valuable insights into the organization’s history, operations, organizational structure, workplace culture, and human resource practices. The session provided a comprehensive overview of how a leading manufacturing organization manages its people and operations to maintain competitiveness and growth.
To acknowledge the company’s hospitality and support, Prof. Dr. Shazia Akhtar presented a commemorative shield to the HR Executive on behalf of SZABIST University Islamabad.
The visit proved to be a highly enriching learning experience, reinforcing SZABIST’s commitment to experiential learning and industry engagement while preparing students for future leadership roles in business and management.
