BBA Students Industrial Tour to Sihala Flour & General Mills
An industrial tour of BBA students was conducted to Sihala Flour & General Mills in Fall 2019. The comprehensive tour at close-by location allowed the students to get a holistic view of the production processes and the value chain that goes into the production of flour. The objectives were:
- Have a working knowledge of the building blocks, major functions, major business processes, and major decisions (strategic, tactical, and operational) in a flour mill.
- Have a sound understanding of planning, design, develop and implement, manage and monitor supply chain operations in technically optimized and commercially viable operations.
Students appreciated the tour as they learned in a practical environment. Students wished that more trips should be planned in the future as well.
