SZABIST University Islamabad Celebrates Pashtoon Culture Day

Islamabad, September 23, 2026: SZABIST University Islamabad celebrated Pashtoon Culture Day on September 23, bringing students together to appreciate the rich heritage, traditions, values, and hospitality of the Pashtoon people.

The event was organized under the supervision of Dr. Zeeshan Hamid, Student Advisor of the Sports, Culture & Adventure Society, with the active participation and support of members of the Pashtoon Council. Their collective efforts contributed to making the cultural celebration a meaningful and engaging experience for the university community.

The Chief Guest, Aasiya Khan, Former Minister KP and Chairperson MTI Bannu, shared valuable insights with students about Pashtoon culture, traditions, and her professional journey. Through her experiences and achievements, she encouraged students to value their cultural heritage while pursuing personal and professional growth.

The celebration highlighted the core values deeply associated with Pashtoon culture, including Melmastia (hospitality), Nang (honour), courage, respect, and strong community values. The event provided students with an opportunity to learn about and appreciate the cultural traditions that continue to shape the identity and heritage of the Pashtoon community.
