SZABIST University Islamabad recently hosted a seminar on “The Importance of Values and Beliefs” for students of Sociology (BBA 1A, BBA 1B, and BSBA).

The session was led by Dr. Khalid Rahim (MBBS, King Edward Medical College, Lahore). He shared deep insights into how values and beliefs guide individuals, shape societies, and strengthen institutions.

Dr. Rahim explained that values and beliefs serve as principles for ethical living, sustainable organizations, and cohesive societies. He linked the discussion to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 4 – Quality Education: Encouraging respect, inclusivity, and lifelong learning.
⚖️ SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: Promoting social justice and equality.
SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions: Upholding integrity, accountability, and fairness.

The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students explored how their personal values can influence ethical leadership and sustainable development.
