On April 23, 2025, students from the Social Sciences Department at SZABIST University Islamabad successfully organized an insightful seminar on the Zero Waste Initiative Pakistan as part of the Environmental Studies course. This event aimed to raise awareness about climate change and sustainable living in the country.

We were honored by the presence of Dr. Ramesh Kumar, Honorable Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, as the Chief Guest, as well as Mr. Zia Ur Rehman, Head of Nustainable (NUST), and a distinguished representative from Seven Sky Developers, who showed their support for environmental sustainability.

The seminar was led and coordinated by Syed Asad Ahmed Gilani, Project Lead of the Zero Waste Initiative at SZABIST Islamabad. Speakers shared valuable insights on practical strategies to reduce waste, reuse materials, and support recycling initiatives across communities. Discussions also highlighted the impact of waste on climate change, local ecosystems, and public health.

A big round of applause goes out to all the students, faculty members, and partner organizations whose dedication made this event a resounding success.

Together, we can build a cleaner, greener, and more resilient future.
