Dr. Wajid Hussain is working as an Assistant Professor in the department of social sciences at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST), Islamabad. He completed his PhD in English Literature from National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad, in 2019. His comparative research explores Karl Marx’s notion of social and historical dialectic from the poststructuralist linguistic view in selected South Asian Indian and African American fictions. Dr. Wajid’s teaching areas include literature, linguistics, and philosophy. Besides, he trains students in communication skills, academic English, and research language. His research focuses on comparative literature, classical and modern philosophy, critical theory, postcolonial studies, poststructuralism, postmodernism, discourse studies, and critical discourse studies.

Dr. Wajid Hussain is also an occasional contributor to The Express Tribune. He writes on literary, social, cultural and political topics. His works have also appeared in other leading newspapers such as The Jang and The Nawa-e-Waqt.
