Introduction
Dr Huma Maqsood is an accomplished academic and researcher with over 25 years of experience in academia and a longstanding faculty position at SZABIST University, Islamabad. She has also served at several leading institutions in Islamabad.
At SZABIST, Dr Huma teaches courses in economics, development, gender, and academic communication. Her research interests lie at the intersection of economics, society, and human behavior, particularly gender and development, poverty and equality, labor markets, financial behavior and well-being, FinTech, and behavioral economics.
Dr Huma has served as an editorial board member, journal reviewer, speechwriter, communication specialist, trainer, and examiner. Her professional work extends to curriculum design, academic writing, copyediting and proofreading, content development, teaching and training, research and development, and institutional advancement. She also serves as an examiner and assessment specialist for the University of Cambridge.
She is driven by a strong interest in understanding the social and economic factors that shape peoples lives, particularly the barriers affecting economic participation and well-being and leading to poverty. She is committed to academic excellence, social equality, economic empowerment, environmental preservation, and sustainable development.
