SUMMARY:Faculty Development Workshop: How to Avoid Predatory Journals & Increase Research Visibility
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Faculty Development Workshop Series\, a highly informative session titled “How to Avoid Predatory Journals” and “How to Increase the Visibility of Your Research” was held on July 29\, 2025\, at SZABIST University Islamabad. \nThe workshop was conducted by Ms. Romila Qamar\, Associate Editor (SDC) at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI). Drawing from her editorial expertise\, she shared practical insights on identifying and steering clear of predatory journals. Participants also learned strategies to enhance the reach\, visibility\, and impact of their research through indexing\, open-access publishing\, and digital author profiles. \nOrganized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Shazia Akhtar\, Head of the Department of Management Sciences\, the session saw enthusiastic participation from faculty members. \nA heartfelt thank you to Ms. Romila Qamar for her valuable guidance and to all faculty for their active engagement in strengthening SZABIST’s research culture.

The session also marked the graduation of Cohort 2 of the MSPM Microcredentials Program\, recognizing participants for earning specialized\, industry-driven skills. \nAs a pioneer in offering microcredentials within the MSPM program\, SZABIST continues to equip learners with the competencies needed in the evolving project management field. \nThe highlight of MSPM Orientation 2025 SZABIST was the active involvement of the Class of 2012\, who mentored Batch 2026 — reinforcing that SZABIST’s MSPM is not just a degree\, but a lifelong network of mentorship\, growth\, and giving back.
