DESCRIPTION:Welcome & Farewell Party Fall 2022 \nOn 30th October 2022 at Dera Dari Restaurant\, MBA Club hosted a welcome and farewell party. The event was organized by PM Prof. Dr.Shazia Akhtar whereby who intended to curate a get-together that served as a means of productive and meaningful social interaction. This vision of Dr.Shazia Akhtar was spectacularly personified by MBA Club under the mentorship of Ms. Saima Saleem. The evening was woven with a spectrum of enthralling and exciting segments: ramp walk\, Qawali performance\, cultural dance\, musical jamming session\, and certificate & souvenir distribution ceremony. \nThe night came to an emotional end. The leaving batch grew reminiscent of memories of great learning and laughter experienced during their time at SZABIST Islamabad. While\, the MBA new batch was anticipating embarking on a productive\, progressive\, and fruitful journey at SZABIST.  Along with MBA\, students of undergrad programs and MSPM programs also participated in the event with great zeal. \nMBA student body is thankful to Program Manager Prof. Dr. Shazia Akhtar for always striving to create a learning environment that transcends the boundaries of classroom walls and for giving them a platform to organize and manage events.

The MOU aims to enable collaboration in faculty and student exchange\, collaborative research\, co-teaching\, professional training\, joint industrial projects\, and knowledge creation in the joint pursuit of quality education.\n\nThe Deputy Rector of UiTM Associate Professor\, Dr. Norhayati Baharun\, emphasized that this initiative offers enormous opportunities for knowledge creation\, student development\, and enhanced collaboration for resolving national\, international\, and global business and societal issues. HOC SZABIST Islamabad Khusro Pervaiz Khan highlighted that this initiative would provide synergy to our efforts and would open new vistas as global partners. Both parties demonstrated their resolve to accelerate the pace of collaboration in multidimensional areas to realize the objectives of this initiative.

DESCRIPTION:An experiential activity – Presenting Yourself as a Brand of BSAF-1 was conducted on 3rd November 2022.\n\n\n\nOne’s introduction happens to be one of the most important first touch points with the audience\, and it should be rock solid. It should come out naturally. And should stick to someone’s brain the moment they hear it. The problem with long\, imprecise\, and unconfident introductions is that they just don’t stick. They are very likely to receive a polite response like “Oh\, sounds interesting”\, or “That’s great!”\, but chances are they will leave the audience totally unclear as to what it is that you are actually good at.\n\n\n\nSo\, the students of BSAF-1 were first trained to introduce themselves in a variety of settings. Later\, they were made part of the exercise where they introduced themselves as powerful brands keeping in consideration their verbal\, vocal\, and visual communication.

Following that\, Class BBA 1-B and 1A of SZABIST Islamabad organized a social experiment and activity for Mental Health Awareness on the 27th of October 2022 as part of the Sociology Class.\n\n\n\nThe event was very inductive and full of learning. Many of the students in the class had not done such artistic work before\, so it gave them a platform to express their abilities and ideas. It also was helpful to spread awareness of mental issues in a very positive manner\, one that was very accepting and welcoming in nature.

Dr. Mowadat enlightened the participants with his great command of EQ. DESCRIPTION:Workshop on Power BI  \nA 3 days workshop on Power BI was conducted through interactive discussion with the faculty and hands-on practice using various data sets on how to use Power BI to obtain insights from data in a visual fashion and\, most importantly\, predictive analytics to build the capacity of the faculty to gain expertise on it. Power BI hands-on training covered topics such as creating compelling dashboards\, accessing data from multiple sources\, creating visualizations\, and performing predictive analytics. This faculty development training program on Power BI was led by Dr. Saqib Mahmood from the faculty of management sciences. \nLearning Outcomes: \nThe following skills were specifically developed through this hands-on training program for faculty development. \n\nConcepts and ETL – Consuming and Transforming Data By Using Power BI Desktop (20-25%)\nModeling and Visualizing Data\, descriptive\, prescriptive\, and predictive analytics (45-50%)\nConfigure Dashboards\, and Reports in the Power BI Service (25-35%)\n\nTrainer: Dr. Saqib Mahmood

DESCRIPTION:Hands-on Training on Software Tools in Project Management\n\nMalik Aizaz Ahmad\, a teaching faculty at the Department of Management Sciences\, SZABIST Islamabad campus\, organized a 4-Day Hands-on Training on Software Tools in Project Management on July 19 & 20 and July 26 & 27\, 2022. The core focus of the hands-on training was the usage of agile project management software owing to its rising significance in the industry. \nThe training consisted of 4 modules\, starting from coverage of fundamentals of any project management software and progressing towards the advanced tools\, techniques\, and concepts\, especially in agile project management. Collectively these modules not only enhanced the understanding of essential PM concepts through modern tools but also provided a firm grasp of practical usage of agile PM software in diverse project settings. \n\n

SUMMARY:SZABIST Islamabad Celebrated Cultural Diversity Day
DESCRIPTION:The Social Sciences Department celebrated under the supervision of Ms. Aliya Abdul Hayee (Program Manager BSSS) and Ms. Attieya Iqbal (Lecturer Anthropology) for creating understanding about the culturally diverse and peaceful environment for all. Students prepared and displayed their native cultural and sub-cultural thematic objects from Gilgit Baltistan\, Balochistan\, Khyber Pakhtoon khwa and Punjab. The event was inaugurated by the Head of Campus in the presence of the Social Sciences faculty.\n\n\nThis event helped the audience to recognize and respect “ways of being” that they necessarily do not own\, and interact with others to build bridges to trust respect\, and understanding across cultures.

It was a great platform for both universities to exchange their ideas. The MBA team at SZABIST Islamabad is working on this partnership and has decided to use a Design-centric approach while developing ideas for real-world problems for the second phase of the Innovation Challenge.\n\n\n\n\n

Furthermore\, they developed their product prototypes and tested their products in real markets. The purpose of the project was to cultivate their business acumen\, develop enterprise skills and explore their career options. Not only did they gain valuable experience but some of the teams were able to make good sales as well.
