Students visited DSV Global Transportation and Logistics Company which manage supply chain solutions for thousands of companies every day. They operate from small family-run businesses to large global corporations. With global reach and 75\,000 employees in more than 80 countries work passionately to deliver great customer experiences and high-quality services.\n\n\n \n\n\nIt was a great learning experience for MBA students to get to know how much warehousing is important in supply chain management\, what are the operational issues and their importance\, and how logistics operations & planning are done in real-time.\n\n\n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Mehfil-e-Musharia and Poetry Competition
DESCRIPTION:A bilingual “Mehfil-e-Musharia and Poetry Competition” took place in SZABIST Islamabad Auditorium.\n\n\n\nSZABIST Literature and Mushaira Society in collaboration with Social Sciences Department organized this event. The event had two sessions. In the first session\, students from various departments of the university participated in the competition and recited their own compositions on the given verses which were:\n\n\n“دوست ہوتا نہیں ہر ہاتھ ملانے والا”\n\n\nand\n\n\n\n“It was an April morning: fresh and clear”\n\n\n\nIn the second session\, the faculty including Dr. Wajid Hussain\, Dr. Rashida Qureshi\, Dr. Iffat Rasool\, Dr. Daniel Pirzada\, and the guest of the event\, Dr. Sajid Rahim\, shared their poetry. In the end\, prizes and certificates were distributed amongst the winners and participants of the competition.\n\n\n To ignite students’ latent passion for English and Urdu poetry was the main objective of the program\, hence providing them with a platform for their artistic catharsis\, and\, promoting a culture of art and literature in the university.

SUMMARY:Field visit to Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX)
DESCRIPTION:SZABIST Islamabad takes the students on pertinent field trips to get first-hand experience related to the concepts of Financial Management.  Ms. Nayyab Javed arranged a tour of ISE towers of the Pakistan Stock Exchange for a field trip for students of BSAF-5 & BBA-5.\n\n\nThis provided the students with a basic understanding of how a financial market works in Pakistan. Students got hands-on experience with the integrated systems and linkages of organizations with PSX throughout the country. Moreover\, the students also identified the basic investment areas which can foster economic growth in a country. Also to acquire a clearer understanding of Pakistani financial markets\, institutions\, and their regulatory framework.

ZAB EXTRAVAGANZA is one of SZABIST Islamabad’s signature events to support students who plan to go solo in the marketplace. The event gathered around exhibitors from the undergraduate programs\, providing a platform for students to display their marketing plans. Also\, to learn about business start-up opportunities and support services and get the latest market intelligence.\n\n\n\nCSR invited the students along with their teacher from Sweet Homes and had them participate in the Extravaganza and indulge with the students to enjoy a treat of festivity that was going around. The students from sweet homes entertained with lunch and ZAB Extravaganza souvenirs.\n\n\n\nThe participating young entrepreneurs and the supervisors of the students Dr. Zoya Wajid and Mr. Syed Shahwar Hussain of the ZAB Extravaganza received outstanding appreciation from the Chief Guest\, Mr. Khusro Pervaiz Khan (Head of Campus) along Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan (Associate Dean/ Head of Department) and Dr. Shumaila Zeb (Program Manager).

DESCRIPTION:BS(AF) Experiential Learning Activity\n\nOrganizer:  Dr. Zoya Wajid Satti\n\n\n\nThe main purpose of this educational trip was to provide a platform for our business students to gain a deep understanding of the value chain of the industry outside the classroom. The Manager of Coronet Foods explained to the students about the value chain process. They described how they are applying theoretical knowledge to the practical field. They explained the whole value chain process; and how it is helping them in their business activities. This activity enabled our students to gain more knowledge and also get a clear picture of the above. It imparts practical knowledge to the students which they can incorporate into their professional and personal grooming for better communication and relationship-building purposes.

SUMMARY:Islamic Banking in Pakistan
DESCRIPTION:Ms. Nayyab Javed organized a guest speaker session on the topic “Islamic Banking in Pakistan” for the class of BSAF-4 .  Dr. Sanaullah Ansari\, was the speaker\, who is a specialist in the field of Islamic Banking and Finance.\n\n\nIn conversation with the audience he gave an in-depth explanation of Islamic banking as well as an overview of Islamic finance. The session’s main topics included but weren’t limited to: the distinction between conventional and Islamic banking; various nations and their strategies for introducing Islamic banking; and an in-depth discussion of the subject with particular reference to Pakistan. Examples that followed these discussion topics included how western nations primarily rely on loans and credit terms and the drawbacks of this\, as well as how these nations are embracing Islamic banking and its advantages. Other examples included the opening of divisions for Islamic banking and contract renewal at the IMF and the World Bank. The session kept the audience hooked till the end.

The activity focused on discussing different products of Multi-National Corporations (MNCs) in the form of a debate. The aim was to give insight to International Business students’ that how competitive brands introduce their products with their unique selling propositions. For each round\, two groups were supposed to come on stage. They argued regarding their product\, including pros\, USPs\, or unique features of their product. It developed the public speaking skills of the participants along with an understanding that how MNCs operate their businesses internationally.

An experiential learning activity was performed for BS Accounting and Finance students of Management Information Systems. Mr. Shahid Muhammad Country Team Lead Financial Accounting was the guest speaker. He shared his expertise and knowledge through the demonstration of SAP working.\n\n\nDr. Muhammad Shafiq\, Assistant Professor of Management Sciences was the organizer and host of the event. He thanked the guest speaker and other participants of the event. In the end\, a shield was presented to guests in a very informative session. The guest really liked the smart green campus and promised to come again in the future.

They showcase their state-of-the-art residential and commercial projects for visitors. Policy dialogues were also held on the sidelines. There were experts from the public and private sectors and academia to discuss new technologies\, new bylaws in the housing and construction industry.Also\, creating public-private partnerships to deliver investments for building eco-friendly and affordable housing projects across Pakistan.

SUMMARY:Experiential Learning Activity – SDPI Annual Conference
DESCRIPTION:Experiential Learning Activity – SDPI Annual Conference\n\nThe students of BBA-8 attended the Annual Conference of Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) on 7th Dec 2022. The visit was facilitated by Malik Aizaz Ahmad\, Teaching Faculty at the Dept. of Management Sciences.\n\n\nIt was an insightful visit where students got to observe various projects\, the information prospect\, policy making\, and their implementation on a governmental level. SDPI is Pakistan’s premier research organization working on different projects. It works on the domain of climate change\, human development\, the economy\, and many other issues about Pakistan’s economic\, financial\,  and industrial policies. Therefore\, the interactive sessions bridged the gap between the classroom’s theoretical concept-building and practical learning. Also\,  regarding policy making and implementation of sustainable development projects from a real-life perspective.\n\n\nIt had multiple sessions regarding the delivery and monitoring of social projects via information technology. The visit allowed students to interact with policymakers and participate in the discussion forums pertinent to their area of interest. Thus\, also giving students a platform to enhance their interpersonal skills.

It was a successful session as the audience was really excited to meet Mr. Najam Sheraz. He shared his past experiences and priorities in youth. How the selection of his path toward spiritualism transformed him into a more clear-minded person by being more emotionally stable and happier.

DESCRIPTION:According to the estimated results of research\, there are 33 million people living with type 2 diabetes in Pakistan—the third largest diabetes population globally. 11 million adults in Pakistan have impaired glucose tolerance\, while approximately 8·9 million people with diabetes remain undiagnosed.\n\n\nSZABIST Islamabad always concerns with the issues that arise in and outside Pakistan. Department of Management Sciences and Social Responsibility Society arranged a diabetic awareness seminar and free medical camp for faculty and students at the SZABIST Islamabad campus.\n\n\nThe Medical specialist\, Doctor Nasreen\, and Nutritionist MS Shafaq were the speakers along with the medical team of “The Diabetic Center”. Doctor Nasreen and MS Shafaq shared their knowledge of the precautions and treatment of diabetes. The team further conducted the tests for faculty and students and prescribed them the treatment. Dr Iffat Rasool and Mr.Shahid Jhangir Raja organized this activity. The students of BBA 5 and 6 were in the audience at the event.

Therefore\, community service activities are carried out throughout students’ academic journey at SZABIST.\n\n\nThe freshmen visited an orphanage and spent quality time with the underprivileged children. Such meetings and visits carry value for both sides. The underprivileged have a feeling of belongingness and importance while the privileged learn to be thankful for all the blessings in life.

DESCRIPTION:Environmental Awareness Session \nAmong the several challenges\, climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time and has adverse impacts on achieving sustainable development globally. The survival of many societies\, and of the biological support systems of the planet\, is at risk. Pakistan is one of the few countries to achieve “on track status” vis-à-vis SDG 13 on Climate Change. Despite several initiatives and successes\, Pakistan remains extremely vulnerable to the impacts of Climate Change. \nIn view of increasing environmental challenges in Pakistan\, the Department of  Management Sciences SZABIST Islamabad organized the event for the graduating students on the “Planet\, People\, and Prosperity- Environmental Perspective” on Wednesday\,23rd November 2022. The objective of the session was to create awareness of the consequences of environmental degradation in Pakistan. The guest speaker Ms Sadia Munawar\, Deputy Director of Pakistan Environment Agency Islamabad shared her valuable experience and views with students to develop their understanding of the environmental protection in Pakistan. She also urged the students to contribute to environmental protection and fight against pollution and global warming through their efforts \nThe session was organized by Dr. Iffat Rasool\, Associate Professor\, Department of Management Science\, SZABIST Islamabad. The students of BBA 6\, BBA 7\, members of Society of Social Responsibility and faculty attended the activity. The Dean and Head of the Department of Management Sciences SZABIST Islamabad Professor Dr. M.Asif Khan awarded the souvenir to the guest speaker. \n

DESCRIPTION:Welcome & Farewell Party Fall 2022 \nOn 30th October 2022 at Dera Dari Restaurant\, MBA Club hosted a welcome and farewell party. The event was organized by PM Prof. Dr.Shazia Akhtar whereby who intended to curate a get-together that served as a means of productive and meaningful social interaction. This vision of Dr.Shazia Akhtar was spectacularly personified by MBA Club under the mentorship of Ms. Saima Saleem. The evening was woven with a spectrum of enthralling and exciting segments: ramp walk\, Qawali performance\, cultural dance\, musical jamming session\, and certificate & souvenir distribution ceremony. \nThe night came to an emotional end. The leaving batch grew reminiscent of memories of great learning and laughter experienced during their time at SZABIST Islamabad. While\, the MBA new batch was anticipating embarking on a productive\, progressive\, and fruitful journey at SZABIST.  Along with MBA\, students of undergrad programs and MSPM programs also participated in the event with great zeal. \nMBA student body is thankful to Program Manager Prof. Dr. Shazia Akhtar for always striving to create a learning environment that transcends the boundaries of classroom walls and for giving them a platform to organize and manage events.

The MOU aims to enable collaboration in faculty and student exchange\, collaborative research\, co-teaching\, professional training\, joint industrial projects\, and knowledge creation in the joint pursuit of quality education.\n\nThe Deputy Rector of UiTM Associate Professor\, Dr. Norhayati Baharun\, emphasized that this initiative offers enormous opportunities for knowledge creation\, student development\, and enhanced collaboration for resolving national\, international\, and global business and societal issues. HOC SZABIST Islamabad Khusro Pervaiz Khan highlighted that this initiative would provide synergy to our efforts and would open new vistas as global partners. Both parties demonstrated their resolve to accelerate the pace of collaboration in multidimensional areas to realize the objectives of this initiative.

DESCRIPTION:An experiential activity – Presenting Yourself as a Brand of BSAF-1 was conducted on 3rd November 2022.\n\n\n\nOne’s introduction happens to be one of the most important first touch points with the audience\, and it should be rock solid. It should come out naturally. And should stick to someone’s brain the moment they hear it. The problem with long\, imprecise\, and unconfident introductions is that they just don’t stick. They are very likely to receive a polite response like “Oh\, sounds interesting”\, or “That’s great!”\, but chances are they will leave the audience totally unclear as to what it is that you are actually good at.\n\n\n\nSo\, the students of BSAF-1 were first trained to introduce themselves in a variety of settings. Later\, they were made part of the exercise where they introduced themselves as powerful brands keeping in consideration their verbal\, vocal\, and visual communication.
