Considering the importance of professional development for the future success of graduating students of BBA and MBA\, the Department of Management Sciences SZABIST Islamabad arranged the professional development training week from 2nd May 2023 to 6th May 2023. The objective was to develop an Entrepreneurial Mindset; Workplace Ethics and Communication; Professional Behavior & Ethics; Emotional Intelligent; CV writing and Mock Interviews. DESCRIPTION:BBA Experiential Learning Activity (Visit to Fauji Cement Company Limited)\n\n\n \n\n\nDepartment of Management Sciences organized an Industrial Tour for students of BBA 7 & 8 (Marketing / Supply Chain Management) to Fauji Cement Company Limited on 17th May 2023. Mr. Naveed Cheema (HOD – Safety) & Mr. Shujjat Ali Khan (Asst. Manager – Safety) along with the Management of Fauji Cement Company Limited warmly welcomed students and gave an introduction of Fauji Cement. They briefed students on the end-to-end operations cycle along with Supply Chain\, Quality & Logistics strategies adopted by Fauji Cement. Later\, the students visited production units\, the quality control laboratory\, and the central control room. Visit intended to emphasize the importance of knowledge sharing between Academia & Industry and was highly appreciated by Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan (Dean & HOD Management Sciences) and Dr. Shumaila Zeb (Program Manager BBA). The visit was conducted under the supervision of course instructor Mr. Omer Ijaz.

SUMMARY:A visit to Pakistan Housing Expo
DESCRIPTION:A visit to Pakistan Housing Expo\n\nMS Project Management scholars of the SZABIST Islamabad campus visited Pakistan Housing Expo.  Dr. Muhammad Shafiq\, Assistant Professor Management Sciences Department was supervising the visit. Students visited stalls to learn about all the projects. Students were then divided into different groups to discuss in detail the specific projects. Specifically\, their earned value management\, uncertainties\, and adaptability were discussed. Students also developed their reports on the allocated projects. Prof. Dr. Zeb Khan Program Manager MS Project Management\, also attended the event. Students’ feedback was excellent as there was an abundance of knowledge and expertise available to learn and apply in the field.\n\n\nThese activities are necessary to develop students’ horizons for the practical field. These are the hallmark of the project management programs at the SZABIST Islamabad.

DESCRIPTION:A visit to National Assembly and Senate\n\n\n\nThe students of BBA-8 visited the National Assembly and Senate on Wed\, 17 May 2023. Staff at Parliament House received the delegation warmly and enthusiastically. The visit to Assembly and Senate was to witness the working of this noble house. Students visited both of the buildings. The respective authorities briefed them about the historic significance of the Parliament and Senate in legislation and other law-making including economy\, defense\, and foreign affairs along with a documentary. The students were shown the government and opposition benches. They also visited the historical Museum at Parliament House.\n\n\n\nOverall\, It was a very conducive visit.

DESCRIPTION:SZABIST Islamabad’s Job Fair held on May 9\, 2023\, was a grand success\, with 63 renowned companies from diverse sectors participating\, including telecom\, media\, tech\, marketing\, finance\, and Multinational Corporations. This provided students with a unique opportunity to connect with industry leaders\, explore career paths and seek job opportunities. \nThe event commenced with an inaugural session where Mr. Ejaz Ahmed Qadri\, an accomplished entrepreneur and architect serving as the Managing Partner and Principal Architect at Qadri Associates\, shared his valuable insights on ‘the idea of success’ with the students. Additionally\, a Job Fair Forum was organized\, featuring a panel of three industry experts who provided valuable counseling to the students. These professionals included Mr. Amees Ahmed (Group EVP Marketing (DFS) at Ufone)\, Mr. Naveed Aziz (Governance Adviser for the British High Commission\, UK.)\, and Mr. Adil Omar (Performance & Improvement Manager at Ericsson – Middle East & Africa). \nThe SZABIST Islamabad Job Fair was a game-changer in the career development space. It provided a platform for students to explore different career paths and connect with industry leaders\, learning from their experiences. The event was a resounding success\, with many students taking part and seeking out job opportunities. Overall\, it was an excellent opportunity for students to gain insight into various industries and for companies to connect with talented candidates.

DESCRIPTION:Qawali Night 2023 – SZABIST Islamabad\n\n\n\n\nThe students of the SZABIST Islamabad campus hosted a Farewell Party on the 6th of May 2023 to bid farewell to their seniors who were leaving. The event was organized by SZABIST Social Sciences Society\, SZABIST Curtain Society\, SZABIST Literary Union\, and SZABIST Dramatic Society under the supervision of Dr. Wajid Hussain\, Mr. Naveed Ullah Hashmi\, and Ms. Sana Mukhtar.\n\n\n\nThe Farewell Party was made memorable by cultural performances\, Sufi Kalam\, and a Qawwali.\n\n\n\nAs the students bonded over their meal\, they also had the opportunity to connect and learn from the faculty and their peers. The juniors gave interesting titles to their outgoing seniors\, adding to the fun and excitement of the evening.\n\n\n\nThe program concluded with a spiritual ambiance\, created by the Qawali.

The main objective of the activity was to cultivate entrepreneurial skills among the graduating students of the Department of Business Administration and help them to develop the necessary skills to start and operate their business ventures in the future. \nMr. Shabbar Khawaja an Entrepreneur\, trainer\, and business Analyst shared his entrepreneurial experience and guided the students on how to undertake uncertainty while taking up new ventures. \nDr. Shumaila Zeb\, Associate Professor and Program Manager Business Administration Department BBA Level thanked the guest speaker and presented him the shield. The  Executive Development Center (EDC) and the Department of Management Sciences jointly organized this session and  Dr. Iffat Rasool Associate Professor SZABIST Islamabad was the moderator of it.

That’s why Szabist Islamabad always tries to make its students into healthy activities which promote innovative thinking and help students to build links.\n\n\nOn 30th of April 2023\, Szabist Islamabad held a prestigious debate competition which was performed under the supervision of Ma’am Uzma Shahryar. The students of BSAF-2A and BBA 1 A had to respectively compete against each other countering the Social Issues of Pakistan. Respective judges also joined us in this event and the students were ranked with positions accordingly and awarded certificates.\n\n\nThe students gained knowledge on various topics and the event went very well and knowledgeable.

DESCRIPTION:A Visit to “Step & Cure” an NGO for the Educational and Rehabilitation Center\n\n\n \n\n\nAlmost above 240 million children are living with a disability. Children with disabilities have the same rights as all other children in the world to nurturing through attentive care\, encouragement in education\, adequate nutrition\, and social protection\, including in humanitarian situations. However\, the countries like Pakistan facing several economic and societal crises cannot stand alone to support these children. Therefore\, several nonprofit organizations are a ray of hope not only for these children but also for the state of Pakistan.\n\n\n \n\n\nConsidering social responsibility an integral part of education\, the SZABIST Islamabad enables the students to understand their responsibility toward society by engaging them in community work and visits to different organizations. Following this tradition\, the students of BBA 6 A visited the “Step & Cure” an NGO for educational and rehabilitation centers on Eid night and donated to the children.  Dr. Iffat Rasool Associate Professor at the Department of Management Sciences SZABIST Islamabad was the organizer of the visit.

The workshop featured Mr. Ayaz Ahmad\, an experienced data manager at epic games\, who provided expert guidance to the participants.\nAs an expert in the field for over a decade\, Mr. Ayaz Ahmad was the ideal candidate to lead the workshop. He provided valuable insights and practical tips to the students. Muhammad Ali Khan organized this workshop\, ensuring that the students were able to gain a thorough understanding of Tableau\, a popular tool used for data visualization and analysis.\n\nOverall\, the workshop proved to be a valuable learning experience for the students. They gained hands-on experience with Tableau and learned how to effectively analyze and visualize data. With the guidance of Mr. Ayaz Ahmad and the support of Muhammad Ali Khan\, the workshop was a great success and left a lasting impact on the students.

On this day numerous programs\n\n\nand arrangements are curated by the World Health\n\n\nOrganization. World Health Day was the first time celebrated\n\n\nworldwide in the year 1950. We enjoyed ourselves a lot and shared our\n\n\nwork with our university students as well as spread\n\n\nawareness of the World Health Organisation ( WHO) through\n\n\ndisplaying the work which we made in our class and we\n\n\nexplained to students what is World Health Day and it’s\n\n\nimportance and then we took photographs\, we had fun\n\n\nactivity in our University.\n\n\n \n\n\n• W.H.O’s mission is to promote health\, keep the world safe and\n\n\nserve the vulnerable\, with measurable impact on people at the\n\n\ncountry level.\n\n\n• It works to improve access to essential medicines and health\n\n\nproducts.\n\n\n• train the health workforce and advise on labor policies.\n\n\n• It focuses on women\, and children’s health all over the world.
