DESCRIPTION:Industrial Tour to Sihala Flour & General Mills \nAn industrial tour of MBA-D students was conducted to Sihala Flour & General Mills in Fall 2019. The comprehensive tour at close-by location allowed the students to get a holistic view of the production processes and the value chain that goes into the production of flour. The objectives were: \n\nHave a working knowledge of the building blocks\, major functions\, major business processes\, and major decisions (strategic\, tactical\, and operational) in a flour mill.\nHave a sound understanding of planning\, design\, develop and implement\, manage and monitor supply chain operations in technically optimized and commercially viable operations.\n\nStudents appreciated the tour as they learned in a practical environment. Students wished that more trips should be planned in the future as well.

DESCRIPTION:Preserving the historical and ecological integrity is a shared responsibility that goes beyond mere exploration. Keeping in view the environmental stewardship\, the society of Social Responsibility and Society of Environment & Climate change SZABIST University Islamabad collectively arranged a visit to Shah Allah Ditta Caves in Islamabad on Thursday 30th November 2023. The main objective was to educate both students about the environmental impact of human activities. \nThe visit was a fascinating experience that combined information about history\, spirituality\, and natural beauty. Armed with gloves\, trash bags\, and a shared commitment to environmental stewardship\, the students extended their clean-up efforts to the immediate vicinity. The cleanup activity was educational initiatives. A designated area was allocated for waste sorting. Volunteers segregated recyclables from non-recyclables\, showcasing the potential for responsible waste management. This practical demonstration was aimed to motivate not only the students but also those who would follow in their footsteps. The activity was a tangible way to show the commitment of students to the well-being of society and planet. \nThe activity was organized by Mr Asad Gillani the president of Social Responsibility Society and Mr Zeerak the President of Environment & Climate change Society SZABIST University Islamabad under the supervision of Dr. Iffat Rasool Head of  Social Responsibility Society and Dr Denial Pirzada Head of Environment & Climate change Society.

The objectives of the session were to raise awareness among the community about breast cancer and to foster a culture of empathy and support for the individuals suffering from this disease.\n\n\n\nThe guest speaker Dr. Talia Safaq senior medical officer at THQ City Hospital Tlagang shared her experience\, insight\, and knowledge to fight against the disease. The speaker also provided a platform for open discussion and question-and-answer sessions to the audience.\n\n\n\nProfessor Dr. Shazia Akhtar the Head of Department of Management Sciences concluded the session with her remarks and appreciation for raising awareness for the serious health issue and conducting the successful session. During phase 1\, students got the opportunity to explore Malaysian development by visiting various places such as their seven types of railway infrastructure in Kuala Lumpur\, high-rises\, Petronas tower\, and especially KL tower which is a 6-storey\, 421-metre-tall telecommunication tower in Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia. It is the world’s 7th tallest tower and Malaysia and Southeast Asia’s second tallest tower. Its construction was completed in 1994. Additionally\, students also explored local food and culture by visiting various local bazaars.
