The session was full of energy and engagement\, welcoming a vibrant group of HR professionals and aspiring practitioners from across the public\, private\, and corporate sectors. \nThe CHRP Course SZABIST Islamabad is designed to strengthen human resource capabilities by blending academic knowledge with hands-on practical skills. The first session was led by Dr. Ahmed Ali Qureshi\, who facilitated dynamic discussions and interactive activities focused on job roles\, responsibilities\, and HR best practices. \nParticipants actively took part in team-based exercises\, including the creation of job descriptions and collaborative problem-solving tasks. These real-world scenarios helped bridge the gap between theoretical understanding and applied HR strategies. \nSpecial appreciation goes to Mr. Khusro Pervaiz Khan\, Head of Campus\, for his ongoing support\, and to the SZABIST leadership for their vision in offering such impactful professional courses. Dr. Nasir Munir\, the keynote speaker\, emphasized the critical importance of achieving social and economic gender equality for societal progress. Drawing from his personal journey in education and professional life\, Dr. Munir inspired the audience with success stories and highlighted the role of equal opportunities in grooming and personality development.\n\n\n\nDr. Munir underscored that gender should never be a barrier to equality\, celebrating the advancements that allow women to access education and participate in the workforce. However\, he acknowledged ongoing challenges\, particularly the difficulties women face in professional environments. With 52% of the population being women\, he stressed that neglecting their potential would hinder societal and economic development. Equality\, he asserted\, is not merely a social issue but a global imperative\, requiring a shift in perceptions and fair distribution of opportunities.\n\n\n\nThe Head of the Department of Economics\, Dr. Hadayat Ullah Khan\, expressed appreciation for the event and presented souvenirs to the participants as a token of gratitude.

This training session was part of SZABIST University Islamabad’s ongoing Faculty Development Workshop Series. The session aimed to enhance participants’ abilities in securing research funding by providing in-depth guidance on writing competitive grant applications\, aligning proposals with funding priorities\, and navigating the grant evaluation process.\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker’s Profile\n\nDr. Muhammad Abbas\, the expert facilitator for the session\, is a Professor of Management at FAST School of Management\, National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences\, Islamabad. With over 15 years of experience in academia and industry\, his research has been published in top-tier journals\, including those ranked in the Financial Times (FT-50) list. Dr. Abbas has also received multiple awards from Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission\, including the ‘Best Young Scholar Award’ for three consecutive years and the ‘Best Research Paper Award.’ His expertise extends to organizational behavior\, leadership\, business education\, people analytics\, and algorithmic HRM\, making him a valuable asset in helping faculty members navigate the competitive world of research funding.\n\n\n\nHighlights of the Workshop\n\nThe workshop focused on key strategies for developing successful research proposals. DESCRIPTION:On August 21\, 2024\, the Department of Management Sciences at SZABIST University Islamabad conducted a focused Digital Teaching Practices Workshop SZABIST Islamabad\, under its Faculty Development Initiative. The session was designed to strengthen the teaching capabilities of faculty and staff by introducing modern digital tools and practices in education. \nLed by Dr. Muhammad Faisal\, Assistant Professor in the Management Sciences Department\, the workshop emphasized the integration of Google Workspace tools into daily teaching practices. The goal of the Digital Teaching Practices Workshop SZABIST Islamabad was to build educators’ confidence in using digital platforms for assessments\, feedback\, and classroom engagement. \nThe workshop took place in Lab-3\, creating an interactive and hands-on learning environment. Faculty members were introduced to applications such as Google Classroom\, Google Docs\, Google Sheets\, and Google Forms. These tools were presented as part of a cohesive digital teaching strategy designed to support collaboration\, streamline assignment management\, and simplify student evaluation. \nThroughout the Digital Teaching Workshop SZABIST Islamabad\, participants engaged in practical activities\, including setting up digital classrooms\, designing online assessments\, and testing real-time feedback mechanisms. The session also addressed common challenges faced during online and hybrid teaching\, offering solutions through effective digital pedagogy. \nA key focus of the workshop was on creating effective digital assessments. Educators learned how to develop quizzes and assignments using Google Forms and how to manage digital submissions efficiently. Feedback strategies were also discussed\, highlighting how Google tools can be used to offer timely\, constructive responses to student work. \nThe faculty expressed a high level of satisfaction with the Digital Teaching Practices Workshop SZABIST Islamabad\, noting that it provided them with immediately applicable skills. Mr. Shoaib is a highly qualified and seasoned professional in the field of Accounting and Finance. \nCurrently\, he is working as Director of Finance in Long Term Engineering Company which manufactures Optic Fiber. The speaker highlighted the importance and need for Financial Accounting in business organizations\, especially manufacturing organizations. He demonstrated practical aspects of accounting practices which was wonderful learning for the students.
