SUMMARY:7.	TEACHING PROJECT MANAGEMENT IN THE DIGITAL AGE: PMBOK 7TH EDITION\, PERFORMANCE DOMAINS\, AND MODERN TOOLS WORKSHOP
DESCRIPTION:To equip faculty with advanced tools and frameworks for teaching modern project management\, the Department of Management Sciences at SZABIST University Islamabad organized a specialized Project Management Workshop SZABIST Islamabad. The workshop centered on the PMBOK 7th Edition\, its performance domains\, and contemporary project management software. \nThe session was held as part of SZABIST’s ongoing faculty development initiatives\, designed to keep educators aligned with global best practices. It focused on bridging the gap between theory and application in project management instruction. \nMr. Bilal Ahmad facilitated engaging and insightful training sessions\, providing faculty members with a deep understanding of PMBOK 7’s updated structure and principles. He guided them through the vision of the 7th Edition and helped them transition from traditional frameworks to modern performance domains. Faculty members appreciated the practical insights and real-world applications discussed throughout the workshop. \nAlongside him\, Mr. Aizaz Malik played a pivotal role in introducing cutting-edge project management software tools that are essential in today’s digital classrooms. His demonstration of these tools helped faculty understand how to better integrate technology into project-based courses. He also ensured that the training addressed software capabilities relevant to both academic use and industry expectations. \nThe Project Management Workshop SZABIST Islamabad has empowered faculty to modernize their instructional strategies and deliver more impactful and relevant project management education. The practical orientation of the workshop allowed participants to not only grasp theoretical models but also learn how to demonstrate them using tools that are widely adopted in professional environments. \nThis session reflects SZABIST’s strong commitment to evolving its academic offerings by embedding technology and innovation into faculty training.

Led by Prof. Dr. Shazia Akhtar\, our delegation explored potential collaborations and opportunities.\n\n\nMr. Talat\, OGTI’s Chief HR Officer\, warmly welcomed our team\, leading to insightful discussions. Notably\, we discussed sharing SZABIST’s Predictive Analytics Lab patent with OGTI\, potentially enabling a sponsored partnership to integrate predictive analytics into their training programs.\n\n\nSoft skills training also emerged as a focal point. OGTI acknowledged the importance of soft skills and expressed interest in SZABIST’s expertise. We’re ready to tailor soft skills training\, focusing on areas like communication\, leadership\, and teamwork.\n\n\n\nOGTI’s interest in our academic offerings marks the beginning of exciting partnerships\, promising mutual growth.

DESCRIPTION:Phase 1: Recreational Learning Trip to Malaysia \n“Practical knowledge is the ultimate commodity\, and is what will pay you dividends for decades to come.” Robert Greene \nSZABIST University\, Islamabad Campus arranged a recreational learning trip to Malaysia for their students for practical learning. During phase 1\, students got the opportunity to explore Malaysian development by visiting various places such as their seven types of railway infrastructure in Kuala Lumpur\, high-rises\, Petronas tower\, and especially KL tower which is a 6-storey\, 421-metre-tall telecommunication tower in Kuala Lumpur\, Malaysia. It is the world’s 7th tallest tower and Malaysia and Southeast Asia’s second tallest tower. Its construction was completed in 1994. Additionally\, students also explored local food and culture by visiting various local bazaars.
