DESCRIPTION:Workshop on Power BI  \nA 3 days workshop on Power BI was conducted through interactive discussion with the faculty and hands-on practice using various data sets on how to use Power BI to obtain insights from data in a visual fashion and\, most importantly\, predictive analytics to build the capacity of the faculty to gain expertise on it. Power BI hands-on training covered topics such as creating compelling dashboards\, accessing data from multiple sources\, creating visualizations\, and performing predictive analytics. This faculty development training program on Power BI was led by Dr. Saqib Mahmood from the faculty of management sciences. \nLearning Outcomes: \nThe following skills were specifically developed through this hands-on training program for faculty development. \n\nConcepts and ETL – Consuming and Transforming Data By Using Power BI Desktop (20-25%)\nModeling and Visualizing Data\, descriptive\, prescriptive\, and predictive analytics (45-50%)\nConfigure Dashboards\, and Reports in the Power BI Service (25-35%)\n\nTrainer: Dr. Saqib Mahmood

Faculty members had a detailed discussion with Regional Business Coordinator on exploring SMEs’ challenges and providing solutions through students’ projects that will be supervised by faculty members. This would ensure industry-academia linkage as well as scientific-based applied research that would provide solutions to emerging problems of SMEs.

DESCRIPTION:Emotional Intelligence amongst Educationists \nA Seminar on “Emotional Intelligence amongst Educationists” was organized by Ms. Sana Mukhtar (Lecturer-Dept of Social Sciences) on Friday 09th Sept 2022 \nHonorable Guest “Prof Dr. Mowadat Hussain Rana” (Sitara e Imtiaz) MBBS\, MCPS\, FCPS\, MCPS-HPE\, DCPS-HPE\, MRCPsych (UK)\, FRCPsych(UK)\, D-CBT(Oxford)\, Chief Editor\, Journal of Pakistan Psychiatric Society and Chairman\, The Healing Triad graced the event. Dr. Mowadat enlightened the participants with his great command of EQ. The points highlighted by him were: \n  \n\nEmphasizing Development of EQ in Students\nExplaining the algorithm of EQ\nEQ as a predictor of future success\nSolution-oriented approach as a sign of High EQ\n\n  \nRespected “Head of Campus-Mr. Khusro Pervaiz Khan” concluded the session with a note of thanks and how SZABIST shares the same vision of developing EQ in students through culminating experiential learning. \n

Department of Management Sciences\nSZABIST Islamabad conducted one day Case Study Writing workshop under the faculty\ndevelopment program on Thursday\, September 15\, 2022\, at SZABIST Islamabad Campus to\nequip the faculty with the necessary tools and techniques for writing business case studies in the local\ncontext. Dr. Atif Bilal\, Dr. Iffat Rasool\, and Dr. Shumaila Zeb from the faculty of Management\nSciences conducted the session. During the workshop\, faculty shared their past experiences\nrelated to framing a case and creating outlines for graduate and post-graduate level classes.
