DESCRIPTION:Professional Debate Session – SZABIST University Islamabad \nA vibrant and intellectually stimulating debate session was successfully conducted on 10th December 2024. The event saw active participation of all the Sociology sections of BBA 1A\, BSBA\, BSAF 1A\, and BSAF 2A .The session aimed to enhance critical thinking\, communication skills\, and collaborative problem-solving among participants. \nThe primary goal of the session was to provide students with a platform to articulate their perspectives on contemporary issues\, engage in constructive dialogue\, and develop their ability to defend and critique ideas effectively. \nThe event commenced with a welcome address by Mam Uzma Shahryar\, who emphasized the importance of debates in fostering intellectual growth and teamwork. \n

DESCRIPTION:Islamic Banking and Finance- Guest Speaker Session \nDr. Sanaullah Ansari invited Mr. Muaz Papotia as a Guest Speaker in his class “Islamic Banking and Finance’ of BSAF on Tuesday\, 10 December 2024. Mr. Muaz is working as Senior Learning Manager North / Head of Islamic Banking Training at Askari Islamic Bank. \nThe focus of his presentation was on the challenges and issues in the conversion of current conventional banking to an Islamic banking system. The speaker highlighted all aspects of this process and presented the possible solutions to overcome these challenges. \nMany questions were asked by the students which were well answered by the speaker. In the end\, Dr. Sanaullah Ansari presented the SZABIST Shield to Mr. Muaz Papotia as a token of appreciation. \n

DESCRIPTION:Celebrating Human Rights Day 2024 at SZABIST University Islamabad \nThe Department of Social Sciences\, SZABIST University Islamabad\, celebrated Human Rights Day on December 10\, 2024\, under the sub-theme “Remembering the Victims of Conflict.” The event was organized by Shaheed Bhutto Foundation\, YFK-International Kashmir Lobby Group\, and the Pakistan Mental Health Association (PMHA). \nThis year’s global theme\, “Our Rights\, Our Future\, Right Now\,” emphasized the universal importance of equality\, justice\, and dignity for all\, organized by Dr. Abdul Razzaq Khan\, Program Manager of Development Studies.\nThe distinguished speakers included: \n• Mushaal Hussein Mullick\, wife of jailed Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik and Chairperson\, Peace and Culture Organisation\n• Dr. Shazia Aslam Soomro\, MNA\, PPP\n• Mr. Rana Qasim Noon\, Chairman\, Kashmir Committee\n• Senator Hajer Rabia Pasha\, Executive Director\, Pakistan \nAlliance for Girls Education (PAGE)\n• Senator Krishna Kumari\n• Mr. Zulqarnain Asghar\, CEO\, PMHA\n• Dr. Bashir\n• Mr. Asif Khan\, CEO\, SBF \nDr. Tariq Waheed\, Head of the Department of Social Sciences\, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests\, participants\, and speakers on behalf of SZABIST University Islamabad.
