DESCRIPTION:Dubai Islamic Bank – Visit\n\n\n\nDr. Sanaullah Ansari arranged the visit of Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB)\, I-8 Markaz Branch for the students of BSAF-5 as part of the Experiential Learning Activity on Thursday\, 2 January 2025. The purpose of this visit was to get practical knowledge of the Islamic Banking System and Islamic Banking Products which they already have studied in their subject “Islamic Banking and Finance”.\n\n\n\nMr. Anwar Ali Gondal\, Area Manager (VP) North\, Islamabad\, and the entire staff of the branch gave a detailed briefing and presentation to discuss Islamic Banking Products. Students asked so many questions related to Islamic banking products and services which were satisfactorily answered by presenters. Students also visited all departments of the bank and learned the practical aspects of bank operations.\n\n\n\nAt the end of the visit\, Dr. Sanaullah Ansari thanked Mr. Anwar Ali Gondal for giving their precious time on the first working day of the new financial year. He also presented the SZABIST souvenir to him as a token of thanks.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Psychological Assessment Camp – SZABIST University Islamabad \nIn December 2024\, a two-day psychological assessment camp was organized by BS Psychology students under the supervision of Mr. Abdul Hannan Sami\, Senior Lecturer\, Faculty of Social Sciences. The camp aimed to create awareness about mental health and provide students with tools to understand and improve their emotional well-being. Using standardized assessment instruments such as the DASS (Depression\, Anxiety\, and Stress Scale) and RISP (Rotter Incomplete Sentences Blank)\, participants were guided in exploring their levels of stress\, anxiety\, and emotional resilience. The initiative also helped students gain valuable insights into their personality traits\, fostering self-awareness and personal growth. \nThis hands-on experience not only benefitted participants but also served as a practical learning opportunity for BS Psychology students\, highlighting the importance of mental health in academic and personal contexts.

The event marked the conclusion of rigorous academic research and efforts by the students\, showcasing their community service-related skills\, including problem-solving\, collaboration\, and a deep understanding of societal challenges. \nDuring the evaluation\, students presented their research findings\, which spanned diverse topics in community services\, addressing current issues in the community. The presentations were followed by an interactive Q&A session where SZABIST faculty members and external examiners assessed the validity\, originality\, and practical implications of their work. \nThe event concluded with positive feedback and constructive suggestions from Judges Assistant Professor Dr. Hafsa National University of Modern Languages Islamabad and Associate Professor Dr. Shazia Hassan National Defense University Islamabad for the student’s professional growth. This defense session demonstrates the commitment of Dr. Shumaila Zeb the supervisor of community services projects for fostering a culture of excellence in research and education in community services. \n

DESCRIPTION:Social Sciences Students are enthusiastically involved in Community Service activities in their efforts to give back to society. \nAs part of their campaign\, students visited different Govt Schools and had multiple sessions with the students on topics related to Hygiene\, Career Counseling\, Self-defense\, Ethics\, Cultural Norms\, and Traffic Rules. They also conducted a peace walk on “Cleanliness” with hands-on training of students. Later\, they arranged some sports activities to inculcate a sense of healthy lifestyle among the young students. The school staff\, management\, and faculty highly appreciated SZABIST Islamabad Social Sciences students’ efforts. \nThe campaign was actively supervised by senior faculty member Ms. Huma Maqsood\, with an emphasis on fostering social responsibility among students. \n

This Webinar was arranged by Adl Advisory which is a leading Training and Consultancy organization in Malaysia in the area of Islamic Banking and Finance. A large number of registered participants attended this very informative Webinar. \nDr. Sanaullah Ansari highlighted the history of banking and the evolution of Islamic banking in Pakistan\, the latest Federal Shari’ah Court decision\, and the State Bank of Pakistan’s Vision 2028\, for the conversion of the current conventional banking system into Islamic by 31st December 2027. \nSeveral questions were asked by the participants which were satisfactorily answered by Dr. Ansari in detail. \n  \n
