DESCRIPTION:Seminar on Disability & Development  \nSZABIST Islamabad held a powerful seminar on Disability and Development on 28th October 2025. The session aimed to help students understand inclusivity\, accessibility\, and the importance of empowering persons with disabilities. The focus was not on sympathy\, but on creating an environment where individuals with disabilities can use their talents\, contribute to society\, and reach their full potential. \nOur distinguished guest speaker\, Mr. Shafique-u-Rehman\, shared his expertise and inspiring personal experiences. He currently serves as: \n\n\nPresident\, MILESTONE \n\n\nSecretary\, Disabled Persons International – Asia Pacific Region (DPIAP) \n\n\nInternational Coordinator\, SAKURA Wheelchair Project – Japan \n\n\nChief Access Auditor\, Sightsavers International \n\n\nLead\, ILPACT Project \n\n\nThe seminar was organized by Ms. Sana Mukhtar (Program Manager\, BS Social Sciences & BS Psychology). It aligned with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: \n\n\nSDG 4 – Quality Education: Promoting inclusive and equitable learning \n\n\nSDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities: Ensuring equal access and opportunities \n\n\nSDG 11 – Sustainable Cities & Communities: Supporting accessible infrastructure \n\n\nSDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: Encouraging global collaboration \n\n\nThe session offered a meaningful learning experience and reminded students of an essential message: disability is not inability. Society must remove barriers and ensure every individual has an equal chance to participate and thrive.

DESCRIPTION:Poster Competition on Addressing Critical Environmental Issues\nOn 28th October 2025\, SZABIST University Islamabad organized a Poster Competition for BSBA 3rd Semester students focused on “Addressing Critical Environmental Issues.” The activity aimed to foster environmental consciousness and highlight the role of sustainable business practices among future business leaders. \nThe event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Iffat Rasool\, with evaluation by Dr. Usman Masood and Dr. Daniel Saeed Pirzada\, who provided insightful feedback to inspire students toward innovative\, eco-friendly solutions. Professor Dr. Shazia Akhtar\, Head of Department\, praised the participants for their creativity\, enthusiasm\, and commitment to sustainability. \nStudents explored topics such as climate change\, waste management\, and green innovation\, showcasing how businesses can contribute meaningfully to a sustainable future. The competition encouraged critical thinking\, problem-solving\, and the integration of ecological responsibility into business strategies.
