SUMMARY:Educational Visit Al-Maktoom Special Education Centre 2025
DESCRIPTION:Educational Visit to Al-Maktoom National Special Education Centre for Visually Handicapped Children \nOn October 22\, 2025\, BS Psychology (Semester 1) students visited the Al-Maktoom National Special Education Centre for Visually Handicapped Children as part of their experiential learning program. Ms. Sana Mukhtar\, Program Manager for BS Psychology and BS Social Sciences\, organized and supervised the visit. \nThe trip gave students meaningful exposure to inclusive education environments. They observed the psychosocial\, emotional\, and academic needs of children with visual impairments and learned how specialized support enhances their growth. \nDirector Mr. Muhammad Amir and Social Welfare Officer Dr. Haroon briefed the students on assistive technologies\, teaching strategies\, and therapeutic interventions used to support children’s independence. Their insights helped students understand the practical side of developmental and educational psychology. \nThe experience also strengthened students’ awareness of key UN Sustainable Development Goals\, especially:SDG 3: Good Health and Well-beingSDG 4: Quality EducationSDG 10: Reduced Inequalities \nSuch experiential learning activities build empathy\, strengthen professional readiness\, and inspire future psychologists to support inclusive and equitable development.

DESCRIPTION:Teach For Pakistan Orientation Session at SZABIST Islamabad \nThe Department of Social Sciences organized an engaging orientation session for final-year BS Social Sciences students\, introducing the prestigious Teach For Pakistan Fellowship Program. The session took place on 22nd October 2025 and was facilitated by Ms. Minhail Tariq\, Senior Associate for Recruitment and Selection. \nMs. Minhail briefed students on the two-year\, paid leadership development fellowship that places exceptional graduates in government schools across underserved communities in Islamabad and Karachi. She explained how the Fellowship develops leadership skills by allowing participants to work directly with students\, schools\, and communities. \nShe emphasized that Teach For Pakistan is more than a teaching opportunity. It is a movement dedicated to building justice\, hope\, and equal opportunity through quality education. Fellows contribute at the grassroots level\, empowering students and helping communities realize their potential. \nTeach For Pakistan is part of the global Teach For All network\, which operates in 62 countries committed to ensuring that every child receives access to quality education.
