SUMMARY:The Use of Machine Learning in Management Science Research Workshop
DESCRIPTION:On August 15th\, 2024\, a training workshop titled “The Use of Machine Learning in Management Science Research” was held at the SZABIST University Islamabad Campus\, organized by Dr. Raazia Gul\, Head of RIG (Finance) at the Research Centre. This session was part of SZABIST’s ongoing Faculty Development Workshop Series\, designed to enhance the research capabilities of faculty and staff. \nThe primary goal of the workshop was to build faculty expertise in applying machine learning techniques to academic research\, particularly within the disciplines of Finance\, Human Resources\, and Marketing. The workshop emphasized practical\, real-world applications of machine learning\, with a strong focus on hands-on learning experiences. \nParticipants worked directly with datasets to build and improve machine learning models\, gaining exposure to advanced analytical methods for interpreting complex data. In addition to understanding the theoretical frameworks\, faculty members explored how to integrate machine learning into their own research processes\, resulting in improved decision-making and evidence-based outcomes. \nThe session was expertly facilitated by Ms. Hajra Murtaza\, a professional recognized for her deep expertise in machine learning and synthetic data generation. Her guidance provided the participants with valuable insights and essential skills needed to apply these tools in a research-driven academic environment. \nThe event reflects SZABIST’s dedication to continuous faculty development and staying at the forefront of emerging technologies in academic research.
