SUMMARY:Case Study Teaching Workshop| Faculty Training
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, August 23\, 2023\, the Department of Management Sciences at SZABIST University Islamabad hosted a dynamic and interactive Case Study Teaching Workshop. The session aimed to strengthen the pedagogical skills of faculty through the adoption of case-based learning — one of the most effective and globally recognized methods in business education. \nThe Case Study Teaching Workshop  focused on the need for business graduates to demonstrate critical thinking\, strong communication\, and the ability to handle complex and ambiguous situations. These skills are vital in today’s competitive corporate world. With this in mind\, the university organized this training session to align faculty teaching strategies with real-world business challenges. \nThe workshop was facilitated by Professor Dr. Fuwad Bashir and Associate Professor Dr. Iffat Rasool\, both senior faculty members in the Department of Management Sciences. Their insights\, drawn from years of teaching and case study facilitation\, provided faculty members with valuable strategies for integrating case-based methods into their courses. \nParticipants actively contributed their own experiences and approaches to teaching through case studies. The discussion created a collaborative learning environment that encouraged innovation and reflection in teaching methodology. \nProfessor Dr. Shazia Akhtar\, Head of the Department of Management Sciences\, and Professor Dr. M. Asif Khan\, Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences\, commended the initiative. They encouraged faculty to continue refining their case-based teaching skills and emphasized the importance of reflective practices in business education. \nThe Case Study Teaching Workshop  is part of SZABIST’s broader vision for academic excellence\, fostering a learning culture that prepares students for practical\, decision-oriented roles in the business world.
