Dr. Qureshi delivered a highly insightful and practice-oriented session demonstrating how emerging AI tools are transforming the modern research ecosystem. \nParticipants were introduced to advanced research tools such as Scopus and SciSpace AI for identifying research gaps and strengthening problem statements. NotebookLM was demonstrated for conducting efficient literature reviews\, synthesizing academic sources\, and developing research mind maps to enhance conceptual clarity and theoretical framing. \nThe session also covered research design\, methodology\, and data analysis\, featuring live demonstrations using R programming and Julius AI\, highlighting how AI-enabled tools enhance analytical rigor and support data-driven academic decision-making. \nThe session was moderated by Dr. Muhammad Shafiq\, Program Manager – EMBA/PMBA/MHRM\, ensuring an engaging and structured academic discourse. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Muhammad Asif\, Associate Dean\, Management Sciences\, who acknowledged the speaker’s valuable contribution and reaffirmed SZABIST’s commitment to research innovation\, academic excellence\, and global collaboration. \nThe event was attended by EMBA participants\, MS and PhD scholars\, and faculty members from SZABIST as well as national and international universities\, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and global perspectives on AI integration in research methodology and data analytics. \nThis initiative reflects SZABIST’s strategic focus on innovation in higher education\, AI-enabled research capabilities\, and the development of future-ready researchers and academic leaders. \n

DESCRIPTION:Learning and Development (L&D) has emerged as a critical driver of organizational performance\, leadership effectiveness\, and sustainable growth. In line with this perspective\, SZABIST University Islamabad successfully organized a Learning and Development Seminar for MBA and Executive MBA students. \nThe session was led by Mr. Jawad Hussain Awan\, Manager Learning at PTCL Group\, who brings over 19 years of extensive professional experience in Learning and Development. An Organizational Leadership graduate from LUMS\, Mr. Awan shared valuable industry insights on how L&D serves as a strategic enabler of business performance and leadership development. \nKey areas discussed during the seminar included: \n\n\nThe distinction between training\, learning\, and development \n\n\nConducting effective Learning Needs Analysis (LNA) \n\n\nAligning learning initiatives with organizational strategy \n\n\nThe role of leaders as learning enablers in fostering a strong learning culture \n\n\nA major takeaway from the session was the importance of leadership commitment in building and sustaining a continuous learning environment within organizations. \nThe seminar was organized by Executive MBA students — Muhammad Awais (Director Commercial Planning\, PTCL)\, Muhammad Tariq (Office Manager Admin & Logistics\, Thales)\, Nawab Khan\, and Ali Riaz (Captain\, CCMW) — under the guidance of Ms. Saba Butt. \nSZABIST extends sincere appreciation to Dr. Muhammad Shafiq\, Program Manager – EMBA & MHRM\, and Dr. Fuwad Bashir\, Program Manager – MPM\, for their valuable presence and support\, which further enriched the academic and professional learning experience. \nThis seminar reflects SZABIST Islamabad’s commitment to industry-integrated learning\, leadership development\, and preparing future-ready business professionals.

Participants explored the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI)\, geospatial technologies\, and data-driven solutions in disaster preparedness\, risk reduction\, and climate resilience. \nThrough interactive demonstrations and expert briefings\, students gained valuable insights into: \n\nNational disaster management and coordination mechanisms\nEarly warning systems and emergency response technologies\nClimate-tech innovations for disaster risk reduction\nPractical applications of AI and geospatial tools in disaster management\n\nThe visit was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Razzaq Khan\, Program Manager MS Development Studies\, along with Ms. Fatima Bashir\, Student Affairs\, ensuring academic relevance and meaningful engagement throughout the activity. \nThis initiative successfully bridged classroom learning with real-world practice\, enhancing students’ understanding of disaster governance\, climate resilience\, and technology-driven risk management.
