Relief Efforts (SSC)

On October 26, 2015, a strong earthquake measuring 7.7 magnitude struck major cities of Pakistan, including the northern areas. The people were deprived of shelter and basic provisions. The cold weather further aggravated the situation.

SZABIST Student Council, Islamabad Campus initiated a response effort to help the cause to provide whatever was necessary. In collaboration with Light Human Development Foundation and Youth Co-operative Wing of Pakistan (YCWP), a relief camp was setup on-campus by the SSC. Students of SZABIST fully participated in the efforts and contributed to the best of their capacity.

YCWP (Youth Co-operative Wing of Pakistan) very graciously donated blankets to the relief camp which consolidated the relief activity. Col (Retd) Tariq Muhmood of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had been very kind to visit the campus in person and meet the Student Council. He appreciated the efforts of the students and admired their sense of responsibility.

SZABIST (Islamabad Campus) is not just an educational institute. It is much more than that. The inculcation of morality and spirit of brotherhood is also part and parcel to its students. In time of trials and tribulations, the students of SZABIST will do everything in their capacity to ease off the pain and suffering of their fellow countrymen.
