Guest Lecture on Imperialism and Zulfukar Ali Bhutto

A Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Memorial Lecture was held on January, 28th (Tuesday) 2014. The speaker was Mr. Taj Haider, a well known writer, playwright and a policy planner.

Mr. Taj Haider's political career is imbued with the urge for reformation and open minded approach towards the solution of the problems of the people particularly those living below the poverty line. He is one of the founder members of the Pakistan Peoples Party and was a committed supporter of change oriented philosophy of late Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. He continued to advance and promote the cause of the down trodden through his writings and contributions for the fine arts, Pakistan Television and other mass media disciplines.

His lecture on "Imperialism and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto" shed a light on the anti-Imperialist view of the world. He remembered him as a firm believer in economic self reliance and political independence. Mr. Taj also discussed Bhutto's introduction of socialist economic reforms while working to prevent any further division of the country. The nationalization Pakistan's major industries, life insurance companies, and private schools and colleges, was also remembered as a great contribution to the country.
