66th Independence Day of Gilgit-Baltistan Celebrated At SZABIST


Anti-state elements want to weaken Pakistan by instigating countrymen against each other but citizens need to be vigilant and foil all conspiracies to divide the nation.

The commitment came during a ceremony held to mark the 66th Independence day of Gilgit-Baltistan held at the Islamabad campus of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST). The colorful event was aimed at sharing the moment of joy with the students belonging to GB, a home to diversified culture and ethnic groups.

The event was attended by dozens of students belonging to Gilgit-Baltistan region who said that they along with students all over Pakistan will endeavor to promote national unity and flight all those forces who want to fan hatred and disturb peace.

Sharing their sentiments, students of the region said Pakistan today is in need of national unity and the young generation can play an extremely vital role in this regard.

They said youngsters of GB have great quest for education and knowledge and if given ample opportunities to excel they can make Pakistan proud in the comity of nations provided.

Students have expressed the determination that they will utilize all their potential and energies for the promotion of national harmony, cohesion and development of Pakistan.

It may be recalled that the people of GB got freedom from the Maharaja of Jammu & Kashmir on Nov 1, 1947 through their own resources and established a new state of their own .Raja Shah Rais Khan became the president while Mirza Hassan Khan the Commander in chief of Gilgit scouts.
