A seminar on Corporate Governance was organized by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology in association with Pakistan Corporate Governance Project, IFC.
The seminar was attended by faculty members, students and businessmen. The focus of seminar was on building the business case for good corporate governance among banks and companies, assist investors to improve corporate governance practices, consolidate and establish sustainable institutional capacities, and support the development of effective corporate governance.
PCGP is funded by Netherlands-IFC Partnership Program (NIPP), which was established in 2002 with the strategic objective to strengthen development and institutional effectiveness of the IFC by financing advisory services at global, regional and country levels with focus on low-income countries such as Pakistan.
Keynote speakers of the seminar included Mr. Khawar S. Ansari, IFC Manager for PCGP and Mohsin Ali Chaudhry, who has been working with IFC Advisory Services in the Middle East and North Africa. They spoke on different aspects of corporate governance and also answered various queries of the participants. Earlier, Mr. Syed Asad Hussain, Campus Head, SZABIST presented the welcoming address.
